Obituary of Orkenith S. Crisp

Orkenith S. Crisp, 79, of the Shoal Creek Community went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in a Jackson County Hospital.
A native of Graham County, he had lived in Whittier most of his life. He was the son of the late H.O. and Ollie Lovin Crisp.
He retired with 30 years of service with Western Electric in Baltimore, MD. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean War.
He was a member and Deacon of The Grace Baptist Church of Whittier and was instrumental in building 95% of the church.
He was a man of much Humility and integrity. Orkenith was also a very kind, caring, and giving man to his family and friends.
Orkenith loved the Lord with all his heart, mind, soul, and strength.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Howell and John Crisp.
He is survived by three sisters, Loleta Crisp of Bryson City, Opal Ball of Roseville, CA, Christine Walker of Whittier; one brother, Bennett Crisp of Whittier; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Danny Sweet will officiate assisted by Revs. David Williams and Daniel Walker. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
