Thomas Avery Greene, 98, of the Wilmont Community went home to be with the Lord Friday, December 20, 2013 in a Swain County health care facility. He was the last surviving child of the late Frank Collins and Annie Mae Greene.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie Mae Slagle Greene and a son, William Sevear Greene.
He is survived by his three daughters, Leona Mason Weirick of Franklin, Lillian Prince of Andrews, Betty Brooks of Dillsboro; one son, David Greene of Dillsboro; 14 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 3:30 pm Sunday at Bumgarner Cemetery in Whittier. Rev. Scott Thompson will officiate.
Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
