Obituary of Mildred Lowe Thomas

Mildred Lowe Thomas, 90, of the Toot Hollow Community went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 31, 2010 in Bryson City Assisted Living Center.
A native of Greer, SC, she had been a resident of Swain County since 1945. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star East LaPorte Chapter 206.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Herbert and Nannie Bragg Lowe; her husband Hoy Lee Thomas, Jr.; four brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Teague and husband Don of Easley, SC; one son, Perry Thomas and wife Anne of Bryson City; four grandchildren, Jim Hyatt and wife Charlotte of Horse Shoe, NC, David Hyatt and wife Kelly of Wilmington, NC, Lisa Starnes and husband David of Fletcher, NC, Rebecca Phillips and husband Scott of Easley, SC; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Pittman of Greenville, SC; and a very special friend, Maxine Winchester.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Mike Cogdill and Charles Ray Ball will officiate with burial in Swain Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
