Obituary of Franklin D Gibby

Frank D. Gibby, 77, of the Laurel Branch Community went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at his daughters residence. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Samuel and Rhoda Sutton Gibby. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Green Gibby; and two children, Norman D. and Ester Mae Gibby.
He is survived by four children; Mona Putas and husband John of Rochester, WA, Deborah Gibby of Seattle, WA, Cora M. Price and husband Vernon of Bryson City, Grayson S. Gibby and wife Emily of Bryson City; eight grandchildren; and one sister, Eva McMahan of Bryson City.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Ray Ball will officiate with burial in Laurel Branch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
