I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother, and my friend. I have known her for many years. we worked together for several years but in the most recent past were able to just enjoy friendship. we had good times in our sewing class and I will miss her.

Woody Blaine, Roseanna and I send comfort to Barbara's family and are deeply sad to know that she has passed on. Barbara was a great friend to our parents, Woodrow and Mary Sneed, and an outstanding person in all respects. I will miss the sweet visits Barbara and I always had when we ran into one another. She was truly a wonderful, gentle soul. You have lost a matriarch who personified the ideal of true Cherokee values; your loss is very great. Those of us whose lives were touched, enlivened and bettered by Barbara share a small share of your grief and hopefully our prayers that you are comforted will serve to sustain you at this very difficult time. So sorry to hear my schoolmate and longtime friend passed away. In high school and earlier Barbara and I would spend nights with each other. Her mother and my mother worked hard helping with our biology projects in 10th grade.

My prayers and condolences for Tammy and the rest of the family. Barbara and my sister Patsy Burnett(passed Sept. 23, 2007) were great friends at Almond Elementary and Swain High where they were both graduated in 1963. One thing you can never lose is what a big hearted caring Lady Barbara was and all the good she did for others.

My mom and I were just speaking of Barbara the other day on the way to church. We were talking about her determination in wanting to be at the Relay for Life Survivor Dinner in August. I know by the time of the actual Relay Barbara was in the hospital and how much she wanted to do the Survivor's lap. Terri and Tammy just know you are in our thoughts.

I was in the class of 1963 where I first got to know Barbara. I feel so blessed to have been her friend. She had such a sweet spirit and deep concern for others. Her children and grandchildren can always be proud of their Mom and Gran. May God continue to comfort you.
