Obituary of Claude Nations

Whittier Dateline: Claude Nations, Jr., 77, of the Whittier Community, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 12th, 2011 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Whittier, he was the son of the late Claude Cecil and Lillie Seagle Nations. He also was preceded in death by; one daughter, Bobbie Jean Messer, two brothers, Regal and Laburn Nations, and one grandchild, Lillie Nations. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Myrtle Messer Nations, five children, Mary Thomason and husband Tony of Whittier, Connie Crider and husband Richard of Birmingham, ALA, Claude Ray Nations and wife Lori of Whittier, Randy Nations and wife Bridgit of Whittier, and Brandy Crowe and husband Chad of Sylva, 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, five sisters, Muriel Woodard of Sylva, Ilene Buchanan of Sylva, Vera Nations of Elizabeth City, NC, Chera Lee Parris of Arlington, WA, and Wilcie Franklin of VA, and one brother Cecil Nations of GA. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday at Wilmont Baptist Church. Rev. Lanny Nations will officiate with burial in Wilmont Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 PM Monday at Crisp Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the Church 30 min. prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Ben Wiggins, Brandon Wiggins, Bo Hollifield, Devon Wright, Robert Hoke, and Casey Wood. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dalton Crowe, and Landon Nations.
