We are so sorry about the passing of your loved one. We knew Fred from the auction and just found out of his death recently. We had planned to go to the auction that night and he was missed. We still enjoyed the auction, but it will not be the same without him.

I am sorry that I will not be with you today to help you celebrate Fred's life, and mourn his passing. He was an institution in the Bryson City area and everyone knew him. A book could be written about Fred Burrell stories and it would be a best seller. He was kind, and good, and a honest man. He made me laugh, and as we all know, laughter is good for the soul. I pray that each of you make it through this hard time with with a light heart and warm memories. Each of you are in my prayers.

Dwight, Paul, and Little Fred,
All of you were so kind to me when I would come to the auction on Saturday evenings to deliver my "Grit Newspapers." You would not believe how many papers I could successfully sell due to the fact your parents were agreeable to my doing that. That is one of many childhood experiences that I remember fondly. I also remember getting to know your sister, Connie. Her death at the age she was certainly impacted me at my young age. I know that so much water has passed under the bridge since that time, but I know that you have grown into men who your Daddy was proud to call his sons. Like any grandfather, I am certain he adored the grandchildren as well. My grandparents always respected your family, and now your Daddy can sit back and discuss the auction days with both of them. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Connie Allen Chambers

Fred has been such a dear friend to our family for many years, or should I say, even generations. I was so sorry to hear the news that he has passed. He will be dearly missed. My prayers go out to the Burrell's. He is in a better place now and is no longer suffering like he had been for quite some time. That is definitely something to find peace in while dealing with passing.
Love,
Jeni and Maggie

We were so sorry to hear about Fred. He was definitely the person to go to if you had a question about any sort of antique-he had a wealth of knowledge after all his years in the business. We enjoyed going to your auction and getting to know all of your family. Our thoughts are with you. Shirl and Olin O'Barr 138 Elm St Surgoinsville Tn 37873
