Obituary of ERNEST ALLEN PARRIS

Bryson City Dateline: ERNEST ALLEN PARRIS, 83, formerly of the Alarka Community, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 10, 2011 at his home in Hendersonville. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Grady and Polly Phillips Parris. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He also attended Harmony Baptist Church. Ernest and his father Grady owned the Safety Cab Company where Ernest worked for 39 years. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Frances Johnson Parris, two sons, Roger Allen Parris of Asheboro, NC, and James Kevin Parris and wife Michelle of Hendersonville, six grandchildren: Joshua Allen Parris and wife Amy, Jessica Parris Layton and husband Jason, Allison, Sarah, Jacob, and Andrea Parris, and one sister. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Burial will be in Swain Memorial Park.
