Obituary of James Leslie Cochran

James Leslie Cochran (Maudie), 72, of the Alarka Community went home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 5, 2011 in a Swain County health care facility. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Harley and Fannie Burr Cochran. He worked at Singer Furniture for 27 years. He was a member of Alarka Missionary Baptist Church and also was a member of the Alarka Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by a sister, Pearlee Cochran Mason. He is survived by six brothers, Sidney Cochran and wife Dorothy of Bryson City, Dockie Cochran of Bryson City, Ueastes Cochran of Cherryville, NC, Dewey Cochran and wife Gladys of Cherokee, Fred Cochran of Bryson City, Cliff Cochran and wife Sharon of Bryson City; two sisters, Mary Ingle of Bryson City, Geraldine Gunter and husband Jeff of Bryson City; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Barker will officiate with burial at Brendle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be the Alarka Volunteer Fire Department.
