Obituary of Brenda Hogue Thurmond

Brenda Hogue Thurmond, 58, formerly of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Friday, June 18, 2010 in a hospital in Atlanta, GA. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Earl Jackson and Maude Robbins Hogue. She worked as a C.N.A. in several nursing homes. She was a member of Almond Baptist Church in Covington, GA. She is preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Hogue and Carrie Hogue; one brother, Charles Hogue.
She is survived by one sister, Muriel Tabor of Covington, GA; seven brothers, Dale Hogue and wife Linda of Bryson City, Leonard Hogue and wife Johnnie of Archdale, NC, Rick Hogue and wife Mae Belle of Trinity, NC, Henry Hogue and wife Vickie of Archdale, NC, Mike Hogue and wife Doris of Jamestown, NC, Arvil Hogue and wife Angie of Bryson City, Gary Hogue and wife Renee of Trinity, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Hill Baptist Church of the Nantahala Community. Revs. Eugene Taylor and Eddie Taylor will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Crisp Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 min. prior to the service.
