Obituary of Kip Estes Payne
Bryson City Dateline
Kip Estes Payne, 68, of the Laurel Branch community went home to be with the Lord, Friday, June 14, 2013 at his residence. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Roy and Gladys Woodard Payne. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was a Private First Class. He was a retired employee of B.A.S.F. Where he worked for 33 years.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Troy Payne.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ann Messer Payne; two daughters, Joy Payne of Candler and Leah Payne Noel and husband Brad of Asheville; two grandchildren, Jenna and Meghan Tullis; three sisters, Kay Winchester and husband Allen of Bryson City, Vicki Parton and husband Leonard of Bryson City, Patricia Price and husband Rocky of Roswell, GA; five brothers, Donald Payne and wife Trudy of Trinity, NC, Charles Payne and wife Nita of Bryson City, Jerry Payne and wife Shirley of Gastonia, Michael Payne of Glenola, NC, and Jeff Payne and wife Beverly of Bryson City.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm. Monday at Deep Creek Baptist Church of which he was a member. Revs. Mike Cogdill and Neal Payne will officiate with burial in the Laurel Branch Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post # 9281.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 pm. Monday at the church.
Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
