Obituary of Teresa Core

Obituary of Teresa Williams Core Teresa (Terri) Williams Core died early Wednesday morning on June 12, 2013, at the Elizabeth House in Hendersonville, NC after a courageous battle with Cancer. She was born on April 13, 1955, in Haywood County, NC, and is the daughter of Frank and Virginia Williams. Terri had a long and distinguished career helping others in the medical field. She received her BS degree in Nursing from the Univ. of NC at Greensboro in 1977, and practiced nursing for more than 30 years, the last fifteen as a Nurse at the Highlands-Cashiers Medical Center (1994-2009). She studied diligently and obtained her Adult Nurse Practitioner degree, from the Univ. of Ala. at Birmingham in 2010. She then worked at two different facilities as a Nurse Practitioner: the Western Carolina Treatment Center in Asheville, and the Appalachian Regional Pain Management Center in Boone, NC. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Tabitha Core; her mother, Virginia Williams; her brother and his wife, Michael and Diana Williams; and two nephews, Anthony and Trent Williams. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Williams. Her own personal philosophy for helping others extended beyond her patients and included family and friends as well. She dedicated her life to selfless service to others whenever there was a need. She was a private person who loved people and animals. Her joyous and free spirited nature will forever be remembered in her legacy. A memorial service will be at Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Memorial gifts may be given to the Four Seasons Hospice, a not-for-profit organization.
