Obituary of Herbert Hoover Nations

Rev. Herbert Hoover Nations, 84, of Galbreath Creek Community went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 8th, 2013 in a Swain County Hospital. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Jerry and Bessie Nations. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Rev. Clyde Nations, Ed Nations, and Robert Nations, and four sisters, Maybell Herron, Pearl Jenkins, Jessie Parker, and Frankie Jones. He is survived by his wife, Helen Ross Nations; six sons, Ronnie Nations of Bryson City, Clifford Nations of Bryson City, Larry Nations of Cullowhee, NC, Ernest Nations of Bryson City, Ricky Nations of Bryson City, and David Nations of Bryson City; one daughter, Patricia Kay Hall of Bryson City; one sister Gladys Holder; 24 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 3:30 PM Tuesday at the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Lynn Biddix, Ernie Stiles and Gary Moore will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:30 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
