Obituary of Rick Wike

Rick Wike, 59, of Bryson City, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at his home. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Joseph Wike and Virgie Nations Loftis; and step father, Harold Loftis. He owned and operated several Horse Stables in Swain and Graham Counties. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Zackery Ben Carter. He is survived by three children, Richard Ben Wike, Jr. of Cherokee, Dee Anna Wike of Cherokee, Justin Wike of Stecoah; two grandchildren, John Wayne Dills, Kaitlyne Wike; one sister, Barbara Ann Friend (Larry) of Waxhaw, NC; three brothers, Kenneth Wike, Dean Loftis (Donna), David Loftis (Kim) all of Bryson City; and best friend, Lillian Hyatt. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Mike Nations, Branton Loftis, and Charles Ray Ball will officiate with burial in the Mason Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
