Bryson City Dateline Charles Leonard Ball, 65, of the Roundhill Community went home to be with the Lord Monday, May 24, 2010 in a Swain County Health Care Facility. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Arthur and Beulah Gibson Ball. He worked in the Textile Industry for over 35 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Ball. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carolyn Greene Ball; one daughter, Loretta Bradley of Bryson City; one son, Lane Ball of Bryson City; one step daughter, Diane Krump of Bryson City; one step son, Johnny Cunningham of Bryson City; two sisters, Betty Cutshaw of Bryson City, Louise Franklin of Bryson City; three brothers, Gene Ball of Franklin, Billy Ball of Bryson City, Frankie Ball of Canton; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Ray Ball will officiate with burial in Swain Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Brothers and nephews and one grandson will be pallbearers.
