Obituary of Dorothy Martin Williams

Dorothy Martin Williams, born January 10, 1931 passed away on March 3, 2013. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Sarah and W.T. Martin, and her brother Earl Martin. She is survived by her children Phil Williams, Sarah Levy, Anna Williams, and Susan Williams, as well as her nine grandchildren, and her brother Wallace Martin. Dorothy graduated from Swain County High School and obtained a B.S. in Drama and Biology from Western Carolina University. She enjoyed the mountains and the woods of Western North Carolina. Dorothy will be remembered for her vibrant, smart, silly, quick witted, and optimistic personality. She was determined to find the positive in every person and situation. Dorothy loved music, singing, and had a strong faith in God. She found joy in helping others, laughing, and being with her family. In the last few years participated in (and won!) a number of 5K races. Dorothy was an absolute blessing to her family and all who knew her. Visitation will be Friday March 15 from 9:30-11:00a.m. at Crisp Funeral Home.
