Mary Sherrill Sitton, 89, of Bryson City passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 7, 2024. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Anne Buchanan Sherrill and wife of the late Harold Bull Sitton.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Earnest Sherrill, Robert Sherrill, Ross Sherrill; and sister, Helen Cook.
She is survived by her daughter, Sonja Cline McCoy; grandchildren, Will (Candace), Ashley (Luke), seven great grandchildren; and lifelong friend, Shirley Palo.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Holly Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Will McCoy, Landon Powell, Michael Sherrill, Edward Cook, and Luke Dodd.
