Mary Leah Edmonds Sherrill, 92, of Bryson City passed away peacefully November 4, 2024, at Autumn Care of Waynesville. Mary was born in Buncombe County, NC, August 19, 1932, to the late Edgar and Rachel Eller Edmonds. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Robert Edward Sherrill; two brothers, Jay Edmonds and WD Gunter; and a sister Willene Crawford. She is survived by her children: Bob Sherrill, Bill Sherrill (Lisa), Tom Sherrill (Teresa), Teresa Jefferson (Craig), and Joe Sherrill (Tracy); a sister Betty Mitchell; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends. A funeral service will be held November 12, 2024, at the Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City at 11:00. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. Mike Holcombe will officiate. Burial will follow the services in the Bryson City Cemetery.
