Robert Lee Herron, 69, of Whittier passed away after a long illness Friday October 18, 2024. A native of Swain County he was the son of the late Thomas Herbert and Margaret Irene Herron. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by children, Monica Louise Houston, and Brandon Lee Herron; siblings, James Kenneth Herron, Nora Evelyn Stroud, Billie Jean Smith, Wanda Kay Gibson.
He is survived by his wife 39 years, Kaye Herron; children, Kimberley Stanley (Scottie), Christopher Lee Houston, Angela Kay Phillips (Thomas); grandchildren, Noah Stanley, Dorian Provencher, Sarah Carpenter, Jonah Stanley, Hannah Stanley; great granddaughter, Scarlett Carpenter; siblings, Wayne Herron, Barbara Simonds, Connie Smith (Beaver), and Larry Herron (Glenda); Daughter-in-law, Charissa Herron, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
