Obituary of Ella Mae Fox

Ella Mae Fox, 77, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 8, 2024. A native of Macon County and longtime resident of Swain County she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Jessie Wooten Crisp. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Ray Fox and her brother Herbert Crisp. Ella Mae was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Her beautiful smile and kindness stole the hearts of all who met her. She supported the surrounding area through her husband’s ministry and by being there for anyone who needed a helping hand. Ella Mae became a ‘second Mom’ to many kids in the community. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of getting to know her. Ella Mae is survived by her son Gary Fox and wife Melanie of Buncombe County, NC; her daughter Sheila Fox and partner Dick Kulikowski of Horry County, SC; her grandson, Adam Fox of Haywood County, NC; and brother Harold Crisp (Louise) of Franklin, NC. The family of Ella Mae and husband Ray, who passed away on September 4, 2024, will receive friends at Crisp Funeral Home from 1pm to 2pm on October, 14, 2024. A memorial service will follow at 2pm.
