James Lewis Montgomery Jr., 62, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 8, 2010 at his residence.
A native of Lancaster, SC, he had been residing in Bryson City since 1998. He was the son of the late James Lewis, Sr., and Carrie Mae Faile Montgomery. He was a US Marine Corp Veteran having served in Vietnam where he proudly earned several commendations. He loved his hunting, fishing, the mountains, and the US Marines.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ouggie.
He is survived by his wife, Rhea Bates Montgomery; sister, Deborah Kay Street of Lancaster, SC, Tamara Rose Orr of Lexington, SC; brother, Tony Montgomery of Lexington, SC; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
