Obituary of Shirley A Jenkins

Shirley Ann Scott Jenkins, 79 of Bryson City was called to Supper with her Master and Savior on May 14, 2024. She was born July 09, 1944, to the late Charles Scott and Mary Shroll Ables in Marshall Michigan. She was a homemaker and spent her spare time sewing, cooking, and providing for her family. She attended True Gospel Baptist Church with her husband Douglas, and they were both active in the church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 3 siblings: Marilyn Roe, Lois Little, and Gerald Scott, she is also preceded in death by a grandchild Thorne Ray McSpadden.
She is survived by her husband of 62 1/2 years Douglas MacArthur Jenkins; 7 children: Troy Jenkins (Connie), Retha Taylor (Dwight), Carlene Elliott (Bob), Marcie Case (Frank), Tyran Jenkins, Taython Jenkins (Missy), and Dena Hamilton (Val); 17 Grandchildren: Valerie, Jared, Brandi, Elysia, Joshua, Alysha, Kelly, Justin, Cameron, Morgan, Kelsie, Garrett, Patrick, Hunter, Jalyn, Kayla, and Trey; 17 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great- grandchildren; and a sister Geraldine Stillwagner. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Funeral Services will be held May 18 at 2pm at the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home, with the Brother Ernie Cable officiating. The Family will receive friends an hour prior to the service, and burial will follow in the Cable Cove Cemetery.
