Robert was a hell, fire and brimstone preacher. Regardless of the message, he was going to give the warning that one day you’ll stand before God and give an account of what you did with Jesus. He just about always included that in his sermon.
He did his job and will hear “well done good and faithful servant”

I have so many memories of Robert. We laughed a lot and shared many things but I guess my favorite is when we both laughed so hard we cried. This is the time Johnny was killing yellow jackets on the porch. A lot of us where around but me and Robert were standing at the storm watching as Johnny was killing bees cursing up a storm.
Johnny told him he'd get rid of them . He got rid of them alright.
Even though he was a preacher and didn’t condone cursing, it was so hilarious and Robert had a good sense of humor and couldn’t help but laugh as hard as we all were at Johnny. I thought that was pretty cool.

One thing that stands out to me when I think of Robert is that he understood that boys will be boys. I remember how he would keep things to himself to save me and Danny from our Dads.
We got into a lot of mischief and on many occasions Robert just seemed to be there at the right time.
He caught us driving vehicles several times and would say you boys shouldn’t be doing that. I’m not going to tell but don’t do it again. The next time he said the same thing. Then another time he told us if you boys keep driving, I’m going to have to tell but he never did.
Our parents wouldn’t give us tobacco either but when we ask Robert for some, he would give it to us and say you didn’t get that from me. Robert was a good guy.

Roy Taylor Family Tribute
to Robert Taylor
Robert was a great example of living the life of a Godly, faithful and God fearing man.
He was respected by and a blessing to his family, his church, his friends, his community and our family.
He was not only the children’s pastor and spiritual mentor but a family friend as well. To this day all the great qualities he possessed like love, understanding, kindness, compassion, and a great sense of humor as well as his teachings and guidance are remembered and will remain in our hearts forever.
The children shared some memories with me today and some things I didn’t know until now but I knew Robert used good judgment and that he knew they were safe. Until we meet again, lovingly remembered.

We're sorry for loss. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Lots of memories of time spent with R. L. and Eddie at their home in our younger days. Our Elders are being called home. We can take solace in knowing where they are. Take care and God bless.

Devotion to God, family, and community best describes my knowledge of Robert Taylor. I’ve known this family for right at 50 years. Many events have transpired over the years and this only made a greater bond between them all. A family tried and tested, but no matter what they have held onto faith and God’s guidance. That’s what Robert Taylor leaves behind. A family who he knows will continue on, look out for Evelyn, and each other.
My deepest condolences to you all.
With love,
Connie Allen
