Obituary of Carolyn Lee Ball

Carolyn Lee Green Ball, 77 of Bryson City, NC passed peacefully at her home April 7, 2024. Carolyn was born on July 30, 1946, to the late Matthew Green and Jessie Dyer McLean. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years Leonard Ball, 2 siblings, brother-in-law Frankie Ball and nephews Chris and Payson. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Diane Cole (Perry), Johnny Cunningham (Greta), Lane Ball. Stepdaughter Loretta Bradley. Grandchildren: Troy Cunningham, Justin Ball, Jonathan Cunningham, Jennifer Cunningham, Richard Krump and Payton Ball. Step grandchildren: Amanda, Denise & Whitney and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers-in-law: Gene Ball {Clara) and Billy Ball. Sisters-in-law: Betty Cutshaw, Louise Franklin, Vickie Ball and Diann Ball. She was a special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Carolyn worked as a seamstress from 1971 -1998 and then worked at MVM until she retired. She loved to cook, tend to her flowers, and make a vegetable garden. She enjoyed reading novels and poetry books. Carolyn was a member of Mt. Zion Church, she loved the Lord, and shared her love for him with family and friends daily. A memorial Service will be held April 10,2024, at 2pm at the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home, the family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Rev. David Watkins will officiate. A private family burial will be held at Swain Memorial Park at a later time.
