Obituary of Thomas Martin Isberg

Thomas Martin lsberg, 54, of the Greasy Branch Community passed away March 27, 2024, at his home. A native of suburban Chicago, Tom was born August 13,1969 to the late Laura and Royal lsberg. A graduate of Proviso West High School and Elmhurst College, Tom enjoyed playing the clarinet and saxophone in school band and was a Boy Scout in his youth. He relocated to Swain County in 2006 where he enjoyed volunteering at the PAWS thrift store, attending Bryson City United Methodist Church, reading devotionals, journaling, and was an animal lover, especially cats. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother John. Tom is survived by his sister Maryanne Zelenka, brother-in-law Edward, and niece Audrey. The family will hold a celebration of life later. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to PAWS.
