I first knew Ernest in first grade at Whittier Elementary School. Back then all children had their tonsils out at the same time. There was a facility set up where the tonsils were removed and you spent the night there to be sure you were going to be alright. We had our tonsils out together and our mothers sat all night by our bedsides and talked.
From then on, he kind of watched out for me and has been one of the best friends I ever had.
I will miss him.

What a blessing to have such a kind and gentle man in our family. Uncle Ernest was loved by all who knew him and his presence will be sorely missed. May God offer solace to his family and friends as we grieve our loss. Heaven not only gained an angel but likely a bushel of apples. Good apples. Because everyone can enjoy an apple. Much love to you all.
