Peggy, I am so sorry to hear about Jim. While I have been far from Bryson City for many years I've often thought of you both. Jim was always a very enjoyable and friendly guy, and I have always appreciated his friendship from our school days. Godspeed always. You are in my prayers.

Peggy and Jim were nice enough to give me my first job washing dishes at their restaurant. I learned a lot about hard work from both of them.
Jim was one of those do-it-all types of men who always seemed supremely capable and confident, but with a sharp sense of humor and wit. He loved a lighthearted prank. He was supremely generous with his time and resources.
Jim Seay will be deeply missed and remembered fondly for a long, long time.

I moved to this area in 1995 and Jim was one of the first people I got to know. Jim had me do a lot of work for him on ice vending machines while he was in the restaurant or motel working.
We had the best working relationship I could have hoped for. When I had questions in my line of work as to who I should work for or who may be difficult, he gave me great advice. He knew everybody in Swain County.
Rest in peace friend! You just won the race a little ahead of us!

Peggy--I was greatly troubled to learn of Jim's death. I always so enjoyed seeing both of you when I was back "home," and I greatly admired his work ethic, his gregarious nature, and his creativity. In this time of surpassing sorrow I hope you will find some small degree of succor in knowing that Jim was the kind of individual who brightened one's day whenever you were around him. When I think of staunch mountain folks, he was exactly the kind of man my mind envisions. Yours has been a tough road but you are a tough woman. Peace be with you.

Jim was always a selfless person thinking of others before himself. His signature overalls was what you always knew when you saw him coming with a smile on his face. There was a time when the facility of Bryson Assisted Living was having an outing in Sylva that he was so gracious to provide our residents with a meal. We will always appreciate his generosity. Truly a beloved citizen of Swain County

Peggy, we are so very sorry to hear about Jim. We both thought the world of him and you both. We always enjoyed talking to him every time he came by the Auction. He was a dear friend and we will miss him as I know you will too, but he is with the Lord and has a brand new body now. We will all see him again. We love you and you are in our prayers.
