Obituary of Thurman Dyer

Thurman Dyer, 81, of Bryson City left this earth to go to his Heavenly home July 17, 2023. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late John Wesley and Ruby Honeycutt Dyer. In his wife’s eyes, he was the best mechanic ever and could fix anything. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dot Dyer; two children, Calena Dyer Willingham and husband Michael Ray of Bryson City, Clyde Thurman Dean Dyer and wife Jami Donovan Dyer of Andrews; five granddaughters, Brionna Willingham Owle of Cherokee, Cami Willingham of the home, Shannon Lee Dyer, Cheyenne Dyer, Shayla Dyer all of Andrews; two great grandchildren Lily and Luke Owle of Cherokee; three brothers, Tommy and Kenneth Dyer of Bryson City, William Dyer of Gastonia; two sisters, Nell Frady and Ellen Seay of Bryson City; and lots of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dot Dyer to help with final expenses.
