Lloyd George Brown Jr., 80, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Saturday July 8, 2023. A longtime resident of Bryson City, he was the son of the late Lloyd George Brown and Kirby Ray Brown. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Brown, and two sisters, Donna Lewis, and Naomi Brown Burton; one great grandson, Augustus Lee Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Diane McElreath Brown; five sons, Hugh Ryan Brown of Melbourne, FL, William Anthony Brown and wife Michelle, Jonathan Michael Brown and wife Kelly, Robert Thorpe Brown and wife Tavish all of Bryson City, and Daniel Shane Brown and wife Pam of Canton; one brother, Larry Dean Brown of Clover, SC; 10 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held 7:00 PM Thursday at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Brothers David Burch and Onley Williams will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home.
A cemetery committal service will be held 12:00 PM Friday at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery Chapel at 962 Old US Hwy. 70 Black Mountain, NC 28711.
Honorary Pallbearers will be James Shuler, Mike Shuler, Steve Shuler, Lewis Crisp, Noland Brown, Hunter Brown, and Noah Brown.
