Obituary of Charles Nathan Smith

Charles Smith, 78, of the Alarka Community went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. A native of Swain County he was the son of the late Nathan and Hazel Smith, and husband of the late Jannie Smith. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Tim and Sonny Smith, and a sister, Linda Jenkins.
He is survived by one son, Aaron Smith and wife Amy; two grandchildren, Jacob Smith and wife Emily, and Addison Smith; one great grandchild, Israel McCrae Smith “Tater”; one sister, Wanda Roland; brother-in-law, Carl Jenkins; nephew, James Roland and many other nieces and nephews.
A remembrance service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Conley’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Pastors Trent Taylor and Aaron Smith will officiate.
