The only man I ever knew that could run full speed with a cup of coffee and never spill a drop. I will miss him as a coach and a good man.

I am so sorry to hear of Coach Ensley passing. In High School he was simply the kindest and most encouraging of all my instructors. He always had a smile or would crack a joke, just to brighten your day for any of us. God is rejoicing at having his child home. I pray for your family to find peace in this trying time.

The Shuler family of Bryson City will remember this wonderful, godly man in so many ways. Joe Benny remembers him at the football games. He taught most of the Shuler kids, and their mother (Leona at 60 some years old) how to drive. Delisa and Michael Shuler were the best of friends. We were always welcomed as family in their home. Sending lots of love and prayers to the family at this time.

My deepest sympathy to this family. I had known Dickie since 1st grade at Bryson City Elementary School and all through Swain High School. He was one of my dearest friends. Every time I saw him, I got a big smile and a hug. I will miss that so very much. I don't think he ever met a stranger, because he would stop and talk to anyone he saw. May God comfort each of the family members with His Holy Spirit and give you peace as only He can do. REST DICKIE UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN. Much love to you!

His unique take on things and extraordinary presence made a lasting impression on people from all over the world. Please know that our thoughts and prayers for comfort are with you all.
