Obituary of Flonnie Mae Burns Collins

Flonnie Mae Burns Collins, 92, went to her Heavenly home Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Mission Hospital surrounded by her family.
Flonnie was born April 29, 1930 to Jim and Laura Burns.
Flonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Laura Burns; her husband, Carl Clayton Collins; her four infant sons and her son Paul Dexter Collins and her one infant daughter. Also her brothers Jimmy and Charles “Nothead” Burns; a half-brother, Grady Burns; sisters, Helen “Pete” Burns, Glenn Waldroup and Betty Ward; half-sisters, Faye McLean, Fannie Seay and Jane Cronic.
Flonnie is survived by her sons, Ross and Sharon, Harold and Theresa, Charles “Spike Collins all of Bryson City; and sister, Jessie Dyer. Flonnie had many grandchildren and numerous great grandkids.
Flonnie was loved by everyone that knew her. She worked for Swain County School Cafeteria for 26 ½ years.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Roger Roland will officiate with burial in the Watkins Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Collins, Flint Griffin, Jody Waldroup, Bobby Burns, and Stone Suttles.
