Obituary of Mae Ashe Rodman

Mae Ashe Rodman, 98, of the Greasy Branch Community went home to be with the Lord Thursday, November 15, 2012 in a Swain County Health Care facility. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Amos and Mary Belle Jenkins Ashe; and wife of the late Sherwood Rodman. She also was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. She was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother. She is survived by four children, David Rodman and wife Sue of Venezuela, Susan Burkhart and husband Phil of Bryson City, Phil Rodman and wife Johneen of Wildwood, GA, Steve Rodman of Trenton, GA; seven grandchildren, Karis Templeton, Kristen Burson, Scott Rodman, Jenny Roundy, Grady Burkhalter, Misty Hahn, Christian Barajas, Corey Barajas, Cody Rodman; 11 great grandchildren; and one sister, Alene Jackson of Gastonia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Victory Baptist church of which she was a member. Rev. Jon Stephens will officiate with burial in the family cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the church. Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
