Obituary of Vernon Eugene Price

It is with a heavy heart we say goodbye to Vernon Eugene Price. Born in Augusta Georgia on Wednesday the 7th of November 1962. He died Friday January 13th of 2023, at Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, North Carolina with his family by his side. Vern was a joyful person, a social person, always ready with a joke and a smile. He loved his country and just out of high school joined the Navy. He loved his wife and their boys and when they married, he genuinely loved his new daughters. He loved his sister and her family ribbing her right up to the last day. Vernon was preceded in death by his loving mother Edith Hyde Bradley, his father Howard Price, his closest friend and brother Mark Price, and his baby sister Vera Jean Price. He leaves behind so many that he loved and that loved him, his wife of 37 years Cora Gibby Price, his son Josh and wife Megan Estes Price of Bryson City, his son Jake and wife April Patton Price of Bryson City, and his youngest son Jeremiah Price of the home. He leaves a sister Darlene and her husband Clint Martin of Bryson City. and a brother Randal Price of Alabama. He leaves two Sisters’- in- law Deborah Gibby of Seattle Washington, Mona Diane Gibby Putas and her husband Jon Putas of Rochester Washington, and a brother-in-law Grayson Gibby of Bryson City. He leaves behind aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins galore. The wealth of love that was so much a part of Vernon will remain with his family and friends. We will celebrate Vernon’s life Thursday January 19, 2023, at Crisp funeral home in Bryson City, North Carolina.
