Obituary of Lassie Josephine Smith Herron

Lassie Josephine Smith Herron, 83, passed away quietly and went home with the angels to be with the Lord Sunday, November 11, 2012. Born June 28, 1929, she was a very loving mother and had a lot of caring friends. She had such a personality that everyone she met loved her. She devoted her life to her family and anyone in need. She loved gardening and bird watching. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Louise Lindsey and her father, Arthur Smith; her brothers, Ray, Odes, Walt, Lyndon, Verlin; and her sisters, Gladys, and Beatrice. She is survived by seven children, Gene Herron and wife Cindy, Billy Herron and wife Ruby, Kay Roensch and husband Ken, Lonnie Herron, Judy Ramos and husband Pete, Evelyn Kelly and husband Charles, Rita Smith and husband Neal; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a sister, Doris Ann Bradley, and a loving companion, Troy Lee Herron. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Max Cochran and Lelon Greene will officiate with burial in Brendle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
