Obituary of Dorothy Lee Cochran

Dorothy Lee “Smith” Cochran, 82, of the Alarka Community went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, November 28, 2022. A native of Swain County. She was the daughter of the late Wheeler and Ruby Thomas Smith and wife of the late Woodrow Cochran. She is preceded in death by her brother, Paul Smith and a sister, Mary Barwick; a son Keith Woodrow Cochran; and a great grand-daughter, Kali Cochran. She is survived by her daughter, Regina Howell (Steve). Grandchildren, Joshua Keith Cochran, Steven J. Howell (Jenn), and Brittany Cochran Woods (Trey). Great grandchildren, Lily and Paislee Woods, Levi Cochran, Steven “Boodrow” Howell, and Riley Howell. A sister, Reba Fortner (Henry). Brothers, James Smith, J.W. Smith (Lynda), Floyd Smith (Brenda). Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Reverends Chris Nations and Ronnie Dodson will officiate with burial at the Brendle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be, Doug Cochran, Daniel Cochran, David Smith, Mark Fortner, Troy Keener, and Steven J. Howell.
