Jeanetta Earls Barker, 88, of the Alarka Community went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 13, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Phemia Simonds Earls; husband Roy Barker; brother, Noah Earls who was killed in action in WWII; sisters Juanita Earls Cochran (Roy), and Geneva Earls Ledford (Omar). Jeanetta was an avid gardener, quilter, and beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed canning and making her families favorite, blackberry jelly. She loved and experienced all of the United States as Roy worked in the tunnels. She had a great fondness for Colorado and the American West but Alarka was always home. She also enjoyed spending time with friends, family, and had a zest for life. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by two daughters, Diane Nations (Jim), Susie Davis (Mark); three grandchildren, Jason Nations (Gabby), Brett Davis, and Derek Davis (Julie); and two great grandchildren, Jameson Nations and Caelyn Davis. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Victory Baptist Church. Rev. Max Cochran will officiate with burial in the Brendle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Saturday at the church.
