Obituary of JC Higdon

J.C. Higdon, 84, of the Alarka Community passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Henry and Lory Cabe Higdon and husband of the late Gladys Smith Higdon.
He was a member of Mt. Vernon Freewill Baptist Church.
J.C. was preceded in death by his step daughter, Linda Massey.
He is survived by his children, Deloris Oliver and husband Kevin, Deborah Styles and husband Don, Roger Smith and wife Karen, Dinah Bembry and husband Tim; three grandchildren, Chris Styles, Tyrone Ball, Mitch Wood; and sisters, Faye Herron and Nellie Gunter.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm Thursday at Fred Cochran Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:45 am to 11:45 am Thursday at Crisp Funeral Home.
