Obituary of Lois Camby

Lois DeHart Camby, 105, of Lexington, NC and formerly of Bryson City, NC, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at Alston Brook.
She was born December 8, 1916, in Swain County, NC. She was the daughter of Claude and Laura Queen DeHart.
She graduated from Swain County High School.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Robert Lee Camby, Sr, brothers Ebb, Emmett, Floyd,
Ransom DeHart, sister Frances D Freeman, daughter Carolyn McHan and granddaughter Elizabeth McHan.
Surviving are her daughter Barbara C Byrd (Ralph Jennings) Lexington, NC, son Robert Lee Camby, Jr. (Marie) Bryson City, NC,
Grandchildren Deborah Brown, Melissa Egelnick, Dan Byrd, Carla McHan, Angela Gaddis, Charlene Camby, 8 Great Grandchildren,
And 7 Great Great Grandchildren, sister in law Faye DeHart and multiple nieces and nephews.
She loved going to church, loved flowers, making jewelry, crafts, gardening and canning. We loved her home cooking especially her blackberry mush and prune cake.
Visitation will be held an hour before the service at 10 am on Friday, April 22, 2022 with the funeral at 11am. Burial will be at Sawmill Hill Freewill Baptist Church cemetery. Officiating the service will be Pastor Brian Schuler of Victory Baptist Church, Bryson City, NC.

Crisp Funeral Home, Bryson City, is in charge of the services.
