Obituary of David Michael Payne

David Michael Payne, 36, of Whittier passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022. He was the son of Rita Howard of Whittier and the late Michael Dean Payne. He was a member of the Whittier United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Doug Revis, Roy and Gladys Payne; and uncles, Troy and Kip Payne and David Revis. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his fiancé, Bethany Powers; son, Bentley Coday; unborn daughter, Daveigh Payne; grandmother, Judy Revis; brothers, Raine Bradley and Mitchell Payne; aunts and uncles, Charles and Nita Payne, Kay and Allen Winchester, Vicki and Leonard Parton, Jeff and Beverly Payne all of Bryson City, Don and Trudy Payne of Thomasville, Jerry and Shirley Payne of Gastonia, Patricia and Rocky Price of Roswell, GA, and Joey and Amy Revis of Rutherfordton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Rob Rollins and David Baxter will officiate with burial in Swain Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Michael Manieri, Zach Fulcher, Brian Ayers, Bennett Dilda, Kenneth Parton, Kregg Parton, Keith Parton, Danny James and Frederick Levy. There will be a benefit fund set up for the children at a later date. The family will share the information on social media when the accounts are in place.
