Obituary of Ruby Cook Medford

Ruby Cook Medford, 90, of the Deep Creek Community went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 20, 2022. A native of Swain County she was the daughter of the late Claude and Lillie Mae Cook. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Horace Medford; one brother, Jack Cook, and one sister, Ellen Hall. Ruby is survived by one son, Donald Medford and wife Patty of Bryson City; one grandson, Mathew Medford and wife Angela of Bryson City; two great grandchildren, Maria and Lillie Medford; one brother, Burl Cook, and one sister, Rachel Wilkie both of Sylva, NC. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Revs. Mike Cogdill and Earl Holden will officiate with burial at Swain Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
