Obituary of Jimmy Burch
Please share a memory of Jimmy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jimmy Burch left this earth for his heavenly home Saturday, January 15, 2022.
He lived everyday to it’s absolute fullest. God certainly broke the mold when Jimmy was born on February 19, 1945 to the late Delous and Matilda Burch in Sylva, NC. He was born the baby of seven children and referred to as “Sugar Baby” by his Mother. To the rest of us that loved and knew him, we called him Jig. He was nicknamed by family friends, as he was known “to do a little Jig” as a young man when he heard good music, in particular Elvis Presley, and it inspired him to dance and cut a rug. He is survived by the love of his life, Darlyne Burch his wife of 56 years of the home, one son Jimmy Shane (April) Burch of Sylva, he was Papaw to his two grandsons, that were his pride and joy, Britt Lee Burch and Shane Cole Burch - fiancé Madison Rae Moody. One Sister Bessie B. Johnson of Thomasville, NC and one brother David (Evelyn) Burch of Sylva, NC and many Nieces and Nephews.
He is preceded in death by brothers Ernest Burch, Verlin Burch, Lyda Burch and Joseph Burch.
As we remember our beloved Jig, we remember him as a man who had a good time everywhere he went. He loved with all his soul and had a heart of gold. He would give you all of his paycheck or his shirt off of his back. He would not want us to be sad, he would want us to continuing loving each other and living life like it was our last day everyday. Because Jig was a simple man and never was much on show or to make a fuss, he will be laid to rest at the Burch Family cemetery with graveside services Saturday January 22, 2022 at 2:00pm.
