Bryson City Dateline: Thomas (Tommy) Winchester, 62, of Bryson City, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 29th, 2012. A native of Swain County, he was the son of Jack Winchester of Bryson City and the late Wanda Mae Clark. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1968 to 1972. He was a member of Gideon International and was evolved with the Swain County Jail Ministry for many years. He was a previous owner of Winchester Auto Parts. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marcia Winchester; two children, Brian Winchester and wife Alva of Bryson City, and Jodi Marr and husband Jeff of Bryson City; three grandchildren, Jake, Zach, and Jenna; one step granddaughter, Hannah Anderson and her daughter Rilyn; one brother, Allen Winchester and wife Kay of Bryson City, and a father -in-law, Vern Miller of Bryson City. Memorial Services will be held 6:00 PM Monday at Victory Baptist Church of which he was a member. Rev. Jon Stephens will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 until 6:00 PM Monday at the Church. Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. An online register is available at www.crispfuneralhome.org
