Obituary of Jay Allen Henderson

Bryson City Dateline: Jay Allen Henderson, 74, formerly of Bryson City, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 27th, 2012 in St. Joseph's Hospital. A native of Swain County, he had lived in Hendersonville since 1963. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Allen and Mildred Nelson Henderson. He retired with Kimberly-Clark with 25 years of service, and he worked 15 years with Henderson Oil in Hendersonville. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean Queen Henderson; three children, James Edward Henderson and wife Susan of Columbus, NC, Janice Renee Hatcher and husband Mike of Bryson City, and Kimberly Dawn Henderson Owen and husband Samuel of Mills River, NC; 7 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, and two sisters, Kathy Byrd, and Judy Sandlin both of Bryson City. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Ray Ball will officiate with burial in Thomas Chapel Cemetery.
