Obituary of John William Simpson

John William Simpson, 54, of Murphy passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021. He was born to Daniel and Georgianna Simpson on March 7, 1967 in Middletown, NY. John was preceded in death by his mom Georgianna; sister Donna Avery; brother Richard Peterson and two nephews Richard Avery and Randy Simpson. John is survived by the love of his life Lesia Simpson and his special friend Michelle Baker; brother Clifford Simpson of Whittier, NC; one daughter Carlessia (Robbie) Yates of Bryson City, NC; three sons Paul Simpson II (Angela) of TN, Charles and Mia Simpson of Fletcher NC and Robert Simpson of Bryson City; 12 grandchildren; RJ Yates (Nicole Smith) of Dillsboro NC, Michalle Yates (Kobe Wiggins) of Bryson City NC, Victoria Yates and Bella Yates of Bryson City, PJ Simpson of Whittier, Hunter and Jonathan Simpson of NC, Emily and Joey Falco of TN, Landon Simpson of SC, Carter Simpson of Cherokee, Victoria Sha Young of Bryson City; two great grandchildren, Kalianna Tayes of Dillsboro and Kenneth Waylon James Wiggins of Bryson City; two nieces, Amy Tripp and Melissa Payne of AL, three nephews, Ricky Peterson of AL, David Simpson (Vivian) of Whittier, SW Simpson of MO; many many cousins and extended family. John loved to color, BBQ, Sit down with anyone and talk forever with them. He loved watching football, his team was the Steelers. He loved his family and grandchildren. He loved to go fishing with his son-in-law Robbie and R.J. He also liked to go camping with his brother Cliff. We would all go camping out on the river and he would jump off the dock and go swimming with his grankids. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Owen will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
