Donnie Dixon, 78, of Bryson City passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 at his residence. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Von and Myrtle Ryder Dixon.
He was a Swain County Commissioner for 8 years and a member of Arlington Baptist Church. He was a master machinist at Wellco Shoe Corporation, Jackson Paper and retired from Con-Met.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Dixon and brother-in-law, Worley DeHart.
Donnie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Era Anthony Dixon; two children, Misty Teesateskie and husband Robbie, Doug Dixon and wife Lisa; five grandchildren, Megan and Harmon Dixon, Kaitlyn, Haley and Carley Teesateskie; one great grandchild, Slade Elliott; and sisters, Barbara DeHart and Sharon Robinson.
No services are planned.
