Obituary of Mildred Marcus Crisp

Mildred Marcus Crisp, 95, of the Panther Creek Community went home to be with the Lord Sunday, September 9, 2012 in a Swain County Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late Ellis F. and Minnie Crisp Marcus and wife of the late Lacy Crisp. She was a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church for the past 83 years. Mildred was a devoted Christian wife, mother, and sister. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mamie DeHart, Estelle Jones, Marie Stillwell, and Olean Willison. She is survived by three children, Carolyn Kachlik of Almond, Gary Crisp and wife Peggy of McDonough, GA, Mike Crisp and wife Andrea of Bryson City; eight grandchildren, Kathy Culbertson, Jeff Kachlik, Judy Hammer, Tonya Gandee, Gary Boyd Crisp, Shannon Hope, Carrie Buchanan, and Alex Crisp; eight great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Edwards will officiate with burial in the Panther Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friend's from6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
