Obituary of SIDNEY FLETCHER BALL

SIDNEY FLETCHER BALL, 80, of the Deep Creek Community, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday July 22, 2009 in a Swain County Healthcare facility. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late John and Hester McLean Ball and husband of the late Gussy Ball. He was also preceded in death by his brother Earl Ball and his sister Marie Skidmore. He was the owner of Sid's Septic Service Inc. He was a member and past Master of the Masonic Lodge #427. He was a member of Rowlands Creek Baptist Church. He was retired with the Bryson City Fire Department as well as an US Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. He is survived by 2 Sons- Jerry Ball of Pollack, Louisiana Rev. Kenny Ball and his wife Donna of Bryson City Daughter- Sharon (Ball) Mitchell and husband Joe Mitchell of Bryson City 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 Brother Wade Ball of Bryson City and several nieces and nephews, and many friends also survive. A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home, the Rev. Kenny Ball will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home.
