Obituary of FRED L. BARKER
Fred L. Barker, 70, of Unahala Creek on Alarka passed away Sunday, January 11, 2009 at home after an extended illness. Surviving are his wife, Wanda; two sons, Gregory of Olin, NC and Freddie of Winston Salem; two daughters, Melodie Barton of New Mexico and Jessie Barker of the home; two brothers, Doyle of Lexington and Ronnie of Alarka; one sister, Mildred Woodard of Alarka; three grandsons, Clinton, Nicholas, and Samuel; and numerous nieces and nephews. Fred served his country with the Army and Most of his life as a supervisor in the furniture industry. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Alarka Church of God. Rev. Jerry Dillon, pastor of Parkway Pentecostal Church in Madison, Mississippi where Fred was a member will officiate with Rev. Benji Collins and Rev. Jim Frady assisting. Burial will be in the Mason Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
