Obituary of Tisha Lynette Crittenden

Tisha Lynette Crittenden was born on January 15, 1974 in Bryson City NC, to Robert and Lorraine Crittenden. Unexpectedly and sadly, she spread her wings and ascended to her Heavenly home on December 21, 2020. She had a warrior spirit for activism and combatting injustice, as she drew strength and inspiration from her two heroes, the late Lorraine J. Crittenden and Dr. MLK jr. III, whom she blessingly & appropriately shared the same birthdate on January 15th. Tisha resided in Cullowhee, NC and was a baptized member of Liberty Baptist Church in Sylva, NC. Her time on earth was dedicated to caring for her parents and battling injustice specifically in the areas of healthcare and the justice system. She graduated from Smoky Mountain Highschool in SylVa, NC in 1991. She earned both her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Criminal Justice/Public Affairs from Western Carolina University while being a clinical study from completing a second master’s degree in counseling from Grand Canyon University. Tisha is survived by her father, Robert E. Crittenden(Lorraine), a brother, Micky Crittenden(Gail), a special niece of great Pride & Joy, Kalisi Raihna Crittenden, a host of aunts, great aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Homegoing services will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday December 29, 2020 at Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City, NC. Her family will be receiving guests at 1:00 pm December 29,2020. In observance of our national climate, the family respectfully asks that those attending to kindly wear a mask or face covering during the funeral services.
